Prof. Leon Chua was recently awarded for the 2020 Julius Springer Prize for Applied Physics. This award is another very important signal for the recognition of memristor research in adacemic and industrial communities.
Congratulations to Prof. Leon O. Chua!
Leon Chua spent most of his professional years at the UC California in Berkeley. In 1971 he postulated the memristor as the 4th passive fundamental circuit element. Nowadays he is well recognized in the community. His papers are cited ca. 80000 times and his current h-index according to Google Scholar is 123. He awareded 7 USA patents and 17 honorary doctorates. He received the first IEEE Gustav Robert Kirchhoff Award in 2005, the Guggenheim Fellowship for natural sciences and the IEEE EDS Celebrated member prize in 2019 (highest award in electron devices society).
